Senior Varsity Novice/Beginner Speech Camp Details

This Camp is for beginning and new students to our Speech Club, to speech tournament competition, and our national league, Stoa.
Meet Ruthie Kent, Our Novice/Beginner Team Policy Debate Coach
Ruthie Kent will also be leading our Novice/Beginners Speech Camp. As posted above in the Novice Speech Camp info, Ruthie is a speech & debate alumna who competed in STOA speech events for three years in high school, & coached both JV & SV novice speech as a student leader. She is passionate about teaching students the importance of strong communication, & helping students become confident as their skills grow. Ruthie graduated from Aaron Academy in 2022, attended Lee University, has been working as an entrepreneur & a part time teacher. She loves being outside, writing, & spending quality time with her husband & family. She is our '25-'26 Ambassador Club Novice/Beginner Speech Coach.
Senior Varsity Novice/Beginner Speech Camp Schedule & Plans:
9:00-9:15: Intro to myself, the club, and speech as a whole
9:15-9:30: Ice breakers
9:30-10:30: Impact of communication + non verbal cues
10:30-10:45: Break
10:45-12: Limited prep speeches + practice/games
12-12:30: Lunch break
12:30-2: Platform speeches + practice/games
2:00-2:15: Break
2:15-3:45: Interpretive speeches + practice/games
3:45-4: Goals!!
Camp Registration & Fees
The fee for each SV Speech Camp student is $75. Register using the drop down link above.
Register by 5:00 p.m. Monday, July 14th for our Early Registration Discount of $20. To receive the $20 Early Registration Discount for this Senior Varsity Debate Camp use the code - SV Early Speech - in your registration. All Camp fees are paid electronically through Stripe which is included on this website as you register. Please note there is an additional service fee charged at check out. This fee is calculated & received solely by the provider. No payments will be accepted at camp as no cash will be exchanged on site.
Snacks & Lunch
While Ambassador Club will provide nutritious snacks & bottled water for each Camp's Snack Break, students attending the 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Senior Varsity Camps will need to bring their own lunches. Ambassador Club will have plenty of bottled water for lunch as well. Students are welcomed to bring their own labeled water bottles if they wish.
